I suppose there was a similar thread in DPR, I can't find one here.

    I offer my humble contribution.

We had a lot of wind lately so the garden was left a little battled.
I'm a little battled myself after the surgery, so I will be shooting one handheld for some weeks

My first portrait with the Z30 - casual around the table
    - my son was visiting - the 18-140 was on - around 19:00 not much light inside the kitchen!
    Impressed by the camera results.

It's actually a Waratah and not strictly a Grevillea, although it is in the family of Proteaceae.

Lance, I captured that image recently at the University of California, Santa Cruz Arboretum, in the Central Coast of California. That arboretum specializes in southern hemisphere plants. Since I know next to nothing about plants and flowers, I tend to take pictures of signs. This is clearly a native from your neck of the woods.

They've definitely got it wrong. This is the Floral Emblem Flower of New South Wales, a state of Australia where I live.

I have a number of photos of them:

She was posing for me to take the shot... and suddenly clouds... no more sun.
Thanking her for her patience I shot all the same!

I was luckier with this one, the sun still showing. Hot, really hot.

Lance, thanks for the information. I have been to Australia a couple of times; been to every state except for Western Australia. (Yes, I have been to Tasmania and even McQuarie Island to see the Royal Penguins.) But as I said, I knew very little about flowers.

First real try at using my 85 1.2 (just arrived) on a z9. And yes the lens was not meant for it, but i find it is perfect for it :-)
Wide open (1.2) and imported with DXO (something i am also playing with as it seems to do a better job than adobe). Image has been scaled down (so any loss of sharpness or detail is because of that)
