From the 2015 Toronto International Autoshow, from an unprocessed file in the archives processed this evening. Today I worked on income tax filing, three returns finished an filed, just before the possible strike here by some federal unionized employees. The images was not great so it went unloved for many years.

    Andrew
actual shutter speed was 1/30 s and not 3.5 s currently displayed by the exif reader The correct symbol for seconds is s, not sec, but now I am just nit picking. As a teacher lose a mark for improper symbol usage! Note that if it were an English language abbreviation it should be sec. Also, correct style usage requires a symbol and not an abbreviation since 3.5 is symbolic representation of three decimal five. Yeah, I can not help myself!

A great looking car, thanks for the photo. Your post encouraged me to Google this interesting car for further details.

I remember that car ... I think I've related before that my first car was a Studebaker -- bought it 1955 and then two weeks later I got my drivers license ...

I like it, Andrew. If you parked yours in a parking lot full of other 1950s cars, it was so low compared to the others that it could be hard to find. Rich

WN, must have been nice to get a car before your licence! I was around 21 when I got my first car, a hand me down from my grandfather that no longer could operate the manual transmission because of arthritis. It had been used by him as a taxi cab. Because the arthritis in his hips was so bad the clutch and first gear had taken a real beating. By a few months after I got it the transmission would get stuck in first and you had to hope to get lucky to get it out. I stopped using first gear after a couple of lock ups. Three on the tree had become two on the tree.

Thanks for looking and commenting WN!

Thanks Paul. Not sure what colour that car really was. It looked like a coral colour in the image out of the camera and the white walls were more of a buttery colour so I think the white balance was way off. Either that or the tires had yellowed and the car really was a coral colour!

I loved those Studebakers of that style and their follow up siblings. Great lookers, all of them. We won't talk about the Lark!

Thanks for looking and commenting. I will bet the weather is nicer your way than it is here in southern Ontario!

From the hood of a car that bore some resemblance to the Studebaker. Do you know which car?

A great looking car Andrew. I don't think any of use are wearing as well as the car. I know I'm not. I need some form of restoration and soon. 😊

    Great looking Studebaker Andrew.
No clue about the hood ornament.

I did just notice a couple other enhancements though.
The basic EXIF now shows under the thumbnail as well as in the enlarged view, and
scrolling the enlarged view shows both your photos even though they were in different posts.
I wonder if it is just the photos posted by the same person, or by everyone in the thread?
Hum - I'll have to check that out.

Edit: It seems to show all pictures posted in the thread, by multiple posters.
Well, except for those posted from Flickr - it launches a new tab for those hosted by Flickr which doesn't act the same.

Fine looking beast Andrew and I am very jealous WN. What a first car ! Mine was a Polski Fiat estate (orange and rust) look it up...Brakes gave up working and I had to 'plan ahead' for traffic lights and junctions...

It's with cars as with houses. No matter how expensive they are they're just not pretty anymore.

Thanks Rich (Belgium). That must have been quite the experience with that Fiat. No brakes is not a good thing. There is a large bridge crossing a canal in Hamilton called the Skyway bridge. About fifty years ago I hit the top of that bridge pulling a camping trailer at about 70 mi/h. I went to apply the brakes and the pedal went to the floor. I thought the end was near but pumping the brake pedal worked and we survived to tell the tale!

We have some attractive looking homes being built here Charlotte, by people with mega bucks. That is not me. The old Victorian era homes are attractive here but full of problems so they go to people that can afford to fix them up. Most cars now look not very different from others of the same year.

Our home is decorated with antiques Charlotte. The bedroom and the livingroom and dining rooms are all blasts from the past. We collect antiques of interest for display. When we die, not a single one of our family members will want any of it! Not sure any have any appreciation for the art pieces we collected over the past forty years either. The insides of so many homes today look just like the insides of all the others of their contemporaries. Sameness everywhere and furnishings not generally attractive to look at but if you ask the owners they will love it. Not only is it unattractive it is often uncomfortable too!

I will try to take some images of house I like but it may take some time to put a group together. Both old ones and new ones. The new ones are all pretty much facsimiles of each other!
