Hello,
I went to the May 1st demonstration in Marseille this morning, with the V1 and the 10-100.
I prefer the V1 to the J5 for this kind of photography, because I like to have a viewfinder.
I am very happy with the results. I missed a few shots because I took them too fast, without having time to focus. Next time I'll shoot bursts, instead of single shot. Overall, I really liked this combination.
Some pictures, with some comments:
This woman walked the whole way with her crutch. She had a lot of trouble, but she did it. Respect
This is a play on words that difficult to translate. I'll try:
Pots and pans, it's better to hit them than to have them hanging out of your ass.
This is an allusion to the fact that every time the president or a minister moves, he is greeted by a concert of pans.
And, for a public man, to have pots and pans hanging on his ass means to have committed faults that have not yet been judged, but that could be.
Another joke, which I can translate: if we wanted to be fucked by a president, we would have elected Brad Pitt
NB: here, "to be fucked" doesn't mean having sex, it means getting ripped off
This woman was drawing while walking. She was very concentrated
This one means : Brigitte, the kid is tiring us out. Take him home
Brigitte is Macron's (french president) wife. For those who don't know, our president is much younger than his wife (who was his teacher when he was at school).
It is not very nice for him, but it is normal in a demonstration of this kind.
This band of percussionists had a big success
But it was better to wear ear protection!
That's all. Maybe next time, I'll take the 18.5, for better subject isolation, and I think faster focus.
But I'll keep the V1. I like its EVF, very clear.
André
