a place to show images where either a significant portion is purple/violet or the main subject or eye catcher is.
Purple/violet have been very important colors for spirituality and royality in history. In Nature it’s quite effective as a complementary color to the yellowish shades of, which are very common.
I don’t have as many purple/violet images as some other colors, but I like those colors (particularly in Nature) and am hopeful some of you might be able to provide many additional shots featuring them in interesting ways. I found a number of sources online claiming that the name purple is usually used for shades between blue & red which are closer to red, while violet is used for those closer to blue. I'll freely admit that I'm no expert on the matter, so I'd prefer it if we all be generous in our interpretations. As long as it's not clearly very red or very blue, it should be fine... and don't forget there's a separate thread for pink as well (link below). 😉
