Thanks, Bob. It was Thursday night in Ybor City. Friday and Saturday night - different story. The one thing you can plan when visiting
Ybor City is the smell of expensive cigar smoke and the feral chickens. In fact the feral chickens are protected and honored in Ybor City.
Notice the art work on the back wall of the bar.
Now the chicken on the wall makes sense.

Oh yes, Ybor City is the true home of the Cuban Sandwich - not Miami.
I always thought the Cuban sandwich originated in Havana.

The Cuban community in Tampa - says Tampa. The Cuban community in Miami - says Miami. However, the pressed Cuban in Miami and Tampa are a little different - in Miami they use mayonnaise and in Tampa mustard.
It is a raging battle but for the post part most historians credit the Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City for refining the Cuban to what it is today.
