XT-5 camera. AF-S mode. Everything in 'A' mode.
If I have it in single focus point (as small as it can go) and I focus, then the speed and aperture (and ISO) are set based upon the light coming in and the amount in focus depends on the aperture set.
If I put the camera in Zone mode and half press the shutter, there is a variety of green squares lit - at different distances from the camera. When setting the aperture, does the camera take account of these and adjust the aperture to keep all of them in focus or not? If not, then what is the point of Zone mode in AF-S?
