Andrea Pizzini just shared a rumor about the long awaited a6700 and though he announced the very same camera (rumor) to come in 2021 allready I'm inclined to believe the rumor to be true this time, or atleast partially, and for the rumored camera to have atleast the 'ai processor' included.
And if false like in 2021 I'll happily continue shooting my old trustworthy a6300 anyway and then hopefully for as long as it keeps shooting :O)

Today I took some macro pictures with A6100 and 90 lens at work and all I had to do is adjust brightness a little bit on few of them. I have an A6100 at home and I'm not in hurry to replace it. I expect that any camera with a processor capable of some AI will drive the price up. But, if it's promising I'll wait for a while before spending more on a new camera.
I'm having the same kind of dilemma as the a6300 is a very good and capable camera still. While on the other hand an even more capable camera might enhance the experience beyond what I figure to be possible currently. And then again, for all the things I dont spend my earnings on buying some new piece of kit from time to time is a very forgiving guilty pleasure (thing) which I fully enjoy whenever I'm using it.
I'll do the same as you though, wait some until atleast the first birding reviews show up and perhaps then some more.
I've had a 6500 then 6400. I can't imagine IQ is ever going to be significantly improved. User experience is what I'm expecting and will gladly shell out some $$. That said, I really hope the rumors are correct because my whole camera bag was stolen while on spring break in Hawaii. As such, I have nothing to use right now. I've made the decision to hold out for a while but it's hard. Especially given the springtime and daughter's graduation! Lucky for me I've got a buddy with some FF Sony gear he lets me use in a pinch. First world problems....

Next APSC will be FX30+Shutter and EVF. Just because of manufacturing nature.
But I don't belive in SONY IBIS: 7 stops. Probably real 3 stops for photo like a6600 has.

It's Last chance to buy excellent sony a6600 for normal price. Sony fx30 cost about 1800$, so a6700 will be around 2000-2200$
I don't ready to pay 2000$ for new apsc body at any sense.

The 'a6700' might come available at the current a6600 price while the a6600 might drop in price, in about two months we will know.
Sony never drop prices, sony prices only grow up!
