    Have a look at this

I'm going to have to try one.
Waist level was always my favourite wat to shoot street. Back in TLR days. Tllt out screens have helped but I still don't like they push the camera out away from my body. I can imagine this device used with a wa lens of say 28mm plus a camera with good af eyesettings. Precise framing isn't essential for street photography, especially with something like a 28-35mm lens. Just crop in post production.

Doesn't the fold out LCD on a mirrorless do the same thing? I have done this with an EM5 and a Z7, when photographing at odd angles, especially ceilings.

Not quite. I use the fold out screen like this on my camera. It makes the camera stick out away from my body in ways I don't like. the screen also means the battery is churning away continually. The LCD has to be on quite bright for it to be easily seen when tucked down between camera body and your own body. I think a reflected view would be better - but I'm not sure about this. My camera has a flip out screen rather than a tilt screen. I don't like the flip out screen for waist viewing so perhaps this is more appealing for my waist level viewing than it would be for those with tilt screens. My previous tilt screen camera didn't have as good af as my current camera so I needed to be fiddling with focus while looking down. I'd trust the eye af on my present camera to nail it fast almost every time. Shooting at high or very low angles is a different matter. I'm thinking about using this with street photography where I'm shooting people as unobtrusively as possible.
