I have caught up by finishing processing the final July ProCap sequences and I was going to bring one of those today .. but I thought maybe a break and a summer walk at a local park might be more fun ..... Not really much happening just a hot summer evening with a few other walkers and a few fishing ..

BTW This was intended to be posted on this site over on DPR but uploading pictures has become a task.. After failing to upload a 1MB picture for many minutes and realizing I wanted to upload several more for this post I gave up after two tries separated by several hours.... So I have returned to Revived for posting .... for now .....

A nice walk WN. Are the fish in this water natural or is the place stocked for fishers? Good reflections in the first two. I could walk here but there is not much to see and hills to climb if I wish to do more than a couple of km. Farm land out of the village and not all that much of interest for photography in the village, although the road through is undergoing heavy construction at the moment.

Thank you for stopping by here, Andrew ... This area was part of the "Farm" that I have shown and discussed on this thread before .... cattle grazed here regularly but this area was always also a flood plain and mostly under water when a hard rain came ... When the area here and to the south were under development a major street cut this particular parcel of land away from the Farm but cattle were still occasionally brought over. .. but after time I guess that probably became more work than it was worth and this land was allowed to be a bit wild. At that time there were many varieties of dragonflies around these small ponds. A pair green heron, a few blue heron. an occasional egret, sandpipers and other birds were found here ... and of course all manner of insects and mosquitoes ... In recent years it has been turned into a small park and has become very civilized with walkers, dogs and ducks replacing most of the other birds and drastically reducing the dragons and other insects ... The fish?? I guess I digressed from the question .. I suspect that they have mostly been brought in and stocked ... I've never witnessed that but there is no stream emptying into these ponds.. There is a stream that comes down from the local mountains and drains the adjoining lands during a hard rain but it runs in a channel away from these ponds at one edge of the park. ... I mostly have replaced my photography of dragons and birds here with people and dogs!! ....

I am wondering if Gear Patrol has been using some sort of management on the forums at DPR and reduced the bandwidth for them or there is just far less bandwidth than before. I need to visit the news section more frequently there and see if they also load slowly. In any case that was part of the reason I came here to begin with. I got tired of waiting and figured the end was coming one way or another.

Love these two shots - really interesting compositions and they'd also work nicely in combination next to each other... all humans run in one direction, while the animals try to get in the other one as fast as possible! 😉 Really nice work!
