I have been aware that a mandarin duck has been spotted frequently lately a few dozen kilometres from where I live. They're not native species in Finland even though a few end up visiting the country every now and then, so I had never seen one myself.
Anyway, on Sunday I set out to give spotting it a try myself, and sure enough, found it fairly soon after getting to the general idea, especially as half a dozen other people with cameras and tele lenses were even easier to spot :)
Certainly an eye-catching fellow compared to most native birds!
