Wrong forum? Why migration?
Where would you like them moved to?
Alan
No problem - but which forum in the sony area? There's 4 of them,
Alan
Done.
PS - you need to put your replies outside the quotes.
Alan, as I'm sure you appreciate, people who are familiar with mark-up languages and code in general are easily able to figure out where the tags for nested quotes are and how to navigate them when replying. But that leaves out a lot of folk - possibly a majority.
So, the problem is not one that can reasonably be expected to be solved by finger-wagging at new forum members who are struggling with the opaque interface. It's a failing of the underlying tech that the forum presently requires us to formulate our replies in code (albeit a comparatively simple tag system).
In short, an editor interface closer to what is/was provided at at DPR (where replies are formatted and quotes colour coded (so that the start and end of quotes is at least somewhat visible to "mere mortals"), is sorely needed. I know it's on the list of desired features, but I have no idea what priority it has. But it's about to get orders of magnitude more urgent as DPR closes in the next couple of days and the many "last minute migrants" try to make their way here. They need a lifeboat!
Alan, I don't understand (replies outside the quotes)?
See the picture below. Everything in between "{quote=" and "{/quote]" gets put inside the box. Start your reply after the very last "[/quote]" (sometimes there are more than one).. I usually hit "Enter" on the keyboard to start a new line.
Use the "Preview" button (lower right) liberally until you get the hang of it. This type of editor is pretty confusing at first if you haven't used one before.
