Nice use of backlighting on that first image.
Generally, I'd use a wider aperture and faster shutter speed. Shallower DoF works for these kinds of images, and motion blur with 1/100s and 75mm is a hazard. -
Thanks for the praise! I shot in 1/100 (in continuous high mode at 6fps) to avoid weird flickering from the LCD screen at the back, which was recommended by a more experienced stage shooter friend. And the 75mm (50mm 1.8D) was one of the only 2 lenses I have, the other being a 35mm f1.8G. I am currently still saving up for a telephoto zoom lens(maybe a 70-200mm) but I don't shoot many stage shots to prioritise immediately getting one as I have other financial commitments as well(I am a recent diploma graduate, waiting for my degree intake atm). Regarding the wider aperture suggestion, I thought using f5 will help me get more stuff in focus, no?

Makes sense. Generally a shutter speed of 1/(electrical line frequency) will minimize flicker. In your part of the world, the line frequency is probably 50Hz. In other areas, it's 60Hz. A multiple of line frequency may help as well (e.g. 1/100 or 1/125).
Sure, a smaller aperture yields greater DoF. If I didn't face a flicker issue, I'd still trade off less DoF for a faster shutter and/or lower ISO. Not that you're doing anything wrong. It's just a suggestion for your consideration.
