    Everybody knows it, right?

Sure your Dyno, being in the dark of modern photo boxes....
... was wondering how that as been implemented ...
and why everybody was warbling around it so much in these Photo's forums.

Well, you know your Dyno was and is an IT member....
and being an obtuse guy, when the light of knowledge and the shadows of doubts finally hit him,
he searched Google and got the already known answer.

ACR is known..... here you go: Automatic Content Recognition

But that was not sounding too much correct and fit to the threads he had read,
and even though his knowledge was already confirmed from the Web, another doubt arose...

Hmmm, may be it's related to that diabolic software, uh ?

    Search "ACR PHOTOSHOP"

    OOOOOoooooohhhhhhh

I don't understand what they mean by saying "The values for the exposure, white balance, colour saturation, contrast and sharpening are all embedded in the file" :))

Maybe they mean the values stored in the RAW file header? To be fair, in marketing the goal is not to present an engineering document.

"With a JPEG or other ‘normal’ image format, lots of attributes that make up the image are fixed in place at the time the file is saved to the camera’s memory card." - right above the "The values for the exposure, white balance, colour saturation, contrast and sharpening are all embedded in the file", and the exposure in this list means something unconventional.

But you are right, of course, saying "To be fair, in marketing the goal is not to present an engineering document."

The problem, as I see it, is that a lot of people believe what marketing says (they may not even know it's coming from marketing) and confuse what is basically ads with technical information. In a lot of cases marketing can be technically correct, too.
