ok, I have removed my "Like" as well then.
No point "liking" an empty post.
Its a shame you cant see the number of likes on the threads page like you could in dpr, as you have to open up and look (or not). i often like something but dont feel the need to comment
A comment bumps the thread up while like does not, and thread goes down the list.
Sometimes images are not a wow photo and not a bad photo either. It wasn't uncommon on DPReview for such threads to get a number of likes but no comments. Or simply get just a view.
I usually post for the fun of showing something I did and found it interesting.
Not for getting specific returns... I mean:
I they come in the way of critics or approval they are gratefully received.
If I WANT or NEED a specific answer I just ask,
and I feel I'm lucky if I can even get a single answer.
( just my 2c on living the "socials" - not specific to this forum )
Did you ask for comments? I didn't look as I don't love spider macros.
I've noticed that both likes and comments seem to be on the thin side (unless the topic is exposure v. brightness or whether or not a DPR moderator ought to be drawn and quartered).
Maybe i should ask for comments next time. i also did not see any likes at all. Could also be that i was not patient enough.
Check out the Canon photo thread: we're having a great party!

I just checked one of my threads, I didn't realize I got some Likes either. Ultimately the best photos are the ones people take for themselves. Even if someones want to respond, it can be hard to put into words.
2 whole days, wow such patience!
On other forums I've known many threads where it's not even been viewed in a week.
