Well, I'm a newbie here; but a veteran of 20 years at the "other" site. To introduce myself, I'm an 85 year old that got seriously interested in photography when I was 13 and finally got a decent camera in 1955 at age 17.
Looks like I'll be hanging around here.

Heck Jerry, I am but a spring chicken at a modest 79. I’ve seen a few of your other postings in the other place, whose name escapes me just now. My memory not what it used to be. 😊
I’ve just posted a thread in the Samsung Talk, but cannot find how to get an image posted from the desktop PC into the site. I’ll scout around some of the threads and see how others have done it. Perhaps they have to be hosted on a photo hosting site first, and linked to that. Shall investigate.
    Stay safe Jerry
    Warmest regards
    Keith

The software here is a bit less intuitive. I'm going to do some guides to doing the simple things.

    Greetings Bob
You are doing a wonderful job, and I am sure everyone appreciates the efforts you are putting into this site. The pressure must be enormous, when us impatient souls scream “but we want it now!” Take heart. We are not really like that 😊. We wish you every success moving forward.

Hey guys, happy to join the new site. I have had so much fun and learned so much from dpreview’s Canon M forum members so I am hopeful the journey will continue here 😀

Hi Keith good to see you've joined. We had a pleasant day in Henley a couple of decades ago, comparing Fuji cameras.

At 65 I must be an 'egg with legs' then.

How did you sneak that emoji in, copy and paste? I tried a couple with no success.

Good to see you guys over here.
I joined DPR since 2003 or something.
An early adopter of the M series.
I'm also the original Photato, the youtuber with similar name (Photato Jet) probably copied my name :)
Hopefully most folks migrate over here so we can keep on arguing lol

Refugee signing in ... good to see some familiar names.

Well, let’s get the ball rolling….
Here is a link to a slideshow created in PTE AV Studio, with music and transitions to prove the point that linking works just fine, at least to ‘Google Photos’.
The shots were taken with the Canon M6MkII kitted with the 18-150mm. (But you can tell just by looking, can’t you). 😊 There are instances when the lens may have been donned with the Raynox DCR-250 for those intense close-ups.
I have since acquired the Canon Macro 28mm with the surrounding LED’s. And ‘tis oft the case that when I obtain anything new regarding photography, the weather turns abysmal. (But only for about a month!)

    Another DPReview refugee here;
After 21.5 years at DPReview (joined Sep 2001) it feels so strange to be visiting another Forum. Still, great to see some familiar names here.

Hey guys! I’m another “other DPR” refugee, and moved over with the same user name. I was probably on DPReview for a solid 15 years, but most of it lurking until I got into the M system. Good to see many others are already here too!

Hey Alexis. I joined DPReview on Sep 1st 2001. Main difference between then and now is that my first digital cam was he Fuji S601 sporting 3.1MP sensor. Current one is the Canon M6II 32MP sensor. The other main changes that come to mind is less hair and fewer teeth. 😊

Yet another DPReview refugee here — I joined DPReview in Sep 2001, but have been a lot less active over there than many of you. At the time I was shooting with a Nikon Coolpix 950, with it’s split, rotating design (a camera I still have), and have gone through a number of Olympus, Canon and Sony digital cameras. (I actually got involved with digital cameras in the mid to late 90s, when I was part a a team at one of the largest computer manufacturers pitching digital cameras along with computer integration to the state & local gov’t market for ID systems.

Hopped on the Canon DSLR wagon with an EOS 60D followed by a Rebel SL1, and a variety of EF/EF-S lenses, that I still have and use occasionally. This year I leapt into the Canon M system, although I still have and occasionally use a Sony RX100 Mk III, a small Canon digital camera, and an Olympus XZ-1 I use for underwater photography. At age 65, I’m definitely not one of the younger guys here, but it appears I am not the oldest either. When I’m not working or traveling, you can find me hiking, cycling, backpacking, or chasing trains (real and model).

    Blast from the past!

I picked up a Nikon Coolpix 900 (similar rotating design) in 1998, but I'm afraid I don't still have it. Battery life on mine was the biggest PIA, but nevertheless I did a lot of work with it for a few years.

Like you I've been through a number of cameras/brands since then most notably Canon and Pentax, before migrating to Sony FF mirrorless about seven years ago.

    🙋‍♂️ 👍
