That last image reminds me of taking a new one with the newest baby, Canon FL 55/1.2. Don´t rowdy up guys, I won´t post it here under Pentax discussion. ;)

Its a really cool looking combo also. And sharp with character. (I could not afford to buy K 50 1.2.. =( . And is sharper than Nikon 50 1.2 by a landslide.. and I already have the sharpest and best 50mm on the market, the mighty Fat Fifty DFA*. 55 is massively different than fifty if my wife asks. :D . Yeah, 55 is is small compared to fifty =). I gotta stop, having too much fun all by my self and a couple of beers... and it´s 1 AM here.

On DPReview since 2005, but didn't post often.

Got an ME Super in 1980.
Then various film bodies over the years. My favourite film camera was the MZ5N.
Went digital in 2005, learning lots from DPReview.
Worked way through ist Ds, then K10 then K5.
Currently have a K3ii as main body with K3 as backup.
The old K5 still gets occasional use.

Hello there pentax users . . .I Shot Pentax since early 1980s . . My brother got an ME Super and i kind of got interested from that camera.
They were like jewellery in those days. They looked really beautiful and cost a lot of dosh so yes they were a lot like Jewellery.
I will not tell you my Life story . . MX LX KX Me Super Mat 124G Ricoh XR7 is about right. Digital began with K10 and still love that camera. Just recently purchased its sister the K20 for fun. I take it to work at the moment with my old 18 to 50 that i used back in the K10 days. I have 645D K1 but to be honest all the cameras are very capable for what i do with them. I shoot below 3200 ISO pretty much all the time so all my cameras look great especially printed. The same goes for the lenses. They are all very very good except one very cheap 70 to 300mm 3rd party lens and even that one shot a heron at 200mm ( 300mm scene K10 ) at a 15th and it is fine with a cheap lens. Just don't use much more than 200mm and you are fine with such a lens.
Shoot Pentax forever i would think . . i have dabbled in some other bits and pieces lately but there are so many things i prefer on Pentax to be honest. The green button the weather sealing the SD cards the DNG files. The menus are far easier because i am used to pentax menus. I will always shoot mostly Pentax so long as I can get the cameras and even then I could manage with a few K1s for a long long time i should think.

A picture is worth a thousand words . . here are some of my best or favourites from my DPreview original gallery. Let's see if this has worked when i post this. Exciting not knowing folks. ( sometimes i believe this is my greatest photo ever. The print 18 inches wide by 12 inches deep is fine sharpness in the middle where the deer are still. )
This is taken in cannock chase and the deer are very very frightened of me so it is a special shot.
Taken with Pentax old 400mm F5.6 and stopped down and with the latest 1.4 ApSc converter on. Crazy lucky but i had to earn that luck over many days.
Sorry it looks like you will have to zoom down to see it fully on the screen. The image quality looks really good though on this web site.

    Thank you for looking.

Formerly known as Saabster on the old site and I forst got into Pentax in the Early '80s when I got a MV1 as a Xmas present. then upgraded to the ME Super and from there jumped around to Nikon and Canon before coming back to the fold in 2017 with the K-1. I've since added a Q7 and a couple of those lenses to the stable.

    Glad to be here.

Still have my beautiful K5 even though I'm mainly a m4/3, A7rii and GFX shooter these days. The K5 (and I guess similar models) feels so great in the hand.

11 years in DPR as JahnG. First test here now, I wonder if this mailing will succeed? I have Pentax K-S1, Kr and Kx and some lenses, of which Tamron 17-50/F2.8, Sigma 18-200 and Pentax 55-300 are the most used. Today I bought an old Tamron 10-24/3.5-4.5, my first UW ever! Will be interesting to test. During the covid time and still now there hasn't been real travels or even going somewhat further, so the DSLR:s have not much been used. Basically my walk around 1" pocket camera Panasonic TZ100 has been in use.
    regards

While we wait, you can use a browser plugin eg Dark reader. The site looks better that way.

    Pentax shooter since 1978.

    Currently:

    K3II, K1II, K-01, MX-1, ZX-L.

I am also a member at Pentaxforums.

I stopped posting at DPReview some years back after one editor took it upon himself to contact another review site in an attempt to get that reviewer to post negative information about the K1II.

As much as I enjoyed DPReview over the years, I will not miss the arrogance and bias I often saw at that site.

Editor attacking a company, on another site, shows some major brand hatred. Wow. It was obvious there were brands they didn't care for. Pentax was one. They also went out of their way to knock medium format digital, even Fujifilm. Bizarre.

My Pentax journey started at age 10. Convinced dad to let me use his new Spotmatic. He told me he would kill me if I broke it. He eventually bought me a Yashicamat 124G. Loved medium format, but not the reversed image waste level finder. Jumped ship to Olympus OM-1 when 16 years old. Got back into Pentax after borrowing a Nikon F3 and 15mm Nikkor. Olympus never went that wide, but Pentax did. Pentax version was half the price of a Nikon. Bought a 15 and Pentax K1000. K1000 became LX then SF1. Scratched the medium format itch with two Pentax 6X7.

Digital brought the Olympus m4/3 E300 and Pentax *ist DS. I had so many OM lenses that didn't work well with m4/3. Finally better handling and lens compatibility made Pentax my go to. I've always like multiple formats. I have Pentax Q, APS-c, full frame and 645Z systems. Eyeing the K3 Monochrome.
    Thanks,
