I know mine produces what looks like the Milky Way at most exposures longer than 1 sec, starting at ISO 200, even with all the NR set at their Max. It was sent back to Nikon a few months back. All they did was upgrade the Firmware, and it came back worse. so 7 weeks later I sent it back with about 100 Body Cap Pics of the Milky Way. It has been gone almost 4 weeks, maybe it went back to whatever Country it was made in? This is 2 strikes for Nikon, as the previous Camera was also a Lemon. At least the Z 9 can focus, something the D850 never did well. However, a bad Sensor, producing Hundreds of Stuck/Hot Pixels, really shows how Pi&& Poor Nikon's QC is

Sorry my previous comment was about milky way photography. Again as with your other thread example images would be most helpful to see what is going on . You seem reluctant to post examples of your problem images both here and in your many critical posts on DPreview. It really does help to pin down problems if you can actually see an example of the issue

Many parts of the Milky Way actually look like a screenful of hot pixels! 😀

I had a Sigma SD1 Merrill that made it's own "stars" see image posted here and click 'original size' twice.

    or try this

Said stars disappear during conversion from raw to RGB because of the 'bad pixels' list in the metadata.

Ah you are that same guy. Seems you get a lot of bad luck with cameras. A bad d850 now a bad Z9! I advise you post a full size sample because I am very much intrigued. I spend many many hours photographing the MW and doing deep sky astro. I also spend many hours doing daytime LE photography. Anything up to 10 mins per shot. I don't have a Z9 but the Z8 which is very similar sensor wise, is fantastic in LE settings because it hardly produces any hot pixels compared to the d850 or d810 before it (which need LE NR on to be acceptable to use IMO). The z8 doesn't need this setting. So I'd like to see your issue with my own eyes. Will you post? And not just body csp pictures. Real life images where you noticed it first etc. I'm a little sceptical but open minded but your not helping that you never post any pictures to show the issues...

There can be 100 items in Inventory, I will always get the Lemon, be it Cars, Boats, Cameras, and other Electronics. Nikon has had the Camera in its shop for over 4 weeks, I did get a confirmation of them receiving it.

I doubt any of that is true because in your other thread you posted

Did it really take more than 9950 shots to lead you to suspect the camera was faulty and in the end you said that Nikon insisted there was nothing wrong with the D850.

It seems to me you are making things up as you go along because there is nothing at all in any of your posts that proves you have faulty cameras.

It's not surprising the moderator at dpreview deleted your posts because they came across as brand bashing since you always run away when challenged to post proof the cameras are faulty.

I don't give a Rodents Rectum, in other words DILLIGAF, regarding what you think. I had a Defective D850, and the Z9 has Issues. If there is a Defective sample, I will get it. 60+ yrs has proven that, over and over.

Your reply tells me you actually do.

There is nothing in your posts proving you had defective cameras and even Nikon told you the D850 was working perfectly.

    You posted -

even though you posted that Nikon insisted your copy of the D850 was working perfectly.

JakeJames referred to the dpreview moderator who deleted his post on dpreview as a Walking Talking Rectum but I don't see why it would be unreasonable for anyone to choose to believe that JakeJames is the actual WTR squirting words out of the wrong hole here because there is nothing in his posts (raw files or whatever) that proves he had a faulty copy and Nikon themselves said there was nothing wrong with his copy 🙂🙂😎

People can choose to believe JakeJames' rant or Nikon and that is the way it should be 😎😎

I see you ignored my request here and on dpreview to post some images about it though...Let me be honest with you - this simply drops your credibility because if this were a credible issue you would have no problem confirming it and allowing the fora to examine the problem images.

I got the Camera back today, after 6 weeks. Looking at the Paper, it appears that the Sensor was replaced, as well as one of the Boards. I haven't taken any pics with it, as the air is still thick with Smoke(does make for a very Red Sun), except one to check the Shutter Button Count. Count was up by over 200 shots, so I guess they were going thru it.

Post the images that show the hot pixels.
