Just have to order one of these I guess, experience it for myself.
Thanks both.
I just carry a WalkStool with me. Always works, lightweight, supports a ton.
Had one of those couple years ago but I gave it away as it caused me pain in the groin.
Still have one of these though and while it is really fantastic to sit in (as in 'comfortable') the 'laid back' factor strikes me as a bit too high like these are more or less the outdoor equivalent of a lazy chair.
WalkStool for me as well! Had it for years! I was recommended by a guy in CA and the designer of the stool lives/lived near where I live, working at Volvo like most people here do (Volvo's H.Q.s for trucks and cars, and Hasselblad, is on my tiny island. And there are several Volvo plants here as well, and a harbor just for their needs).
Ray--I've used one off and on for several years. They are great if you are careful with them, and you don't get any dirt or mud in them. The base is pretty small, so it won't work well on a sloped or rough surface. I broke my first one by putting too much weight on one edge, but the replacement I bought had much thicker plastic and seems much better designed, so far, no problem with it. So make sure you get the latest model if you get one. I tend to use the stool more around the house and in the shop than when in the field now. I have a foldable gardener's chair that is heavier, but much better on rough or sloped surfaces.
Thanks, much appreciated!
Ray
I use the same one that you still have...I believe those are hard to beat, but then, it depends on circumstances.
Well after reading this right through, I'll order one hopefully the thicker plastic one. Come in handy when I'm not in sand or mud. Thanks folks.
Danny.
I have ordered this one, get to receive it by tomorrow. Hope it to be the sturdy version as it wasnt the very cheapest option and not the most expensive. I'll post back here about the first impressions.
Thanks for the advice and replies so far.

Folding Chair "Benson" first impressions
Taken with me a few times since receiving it and up until now I'm positive. The particular make seems quite sturdy but I'm cautious nevertheless whenever sitting down as in not letting myself drop down on it, after all it only weighs about 2,7 lbs against my 165 lbs. The construction also doesnt creak or make any other unwanted sounds while moving (with it) or sitting down on it which is a big plus whenever stalking the subject. The chair is adjustable in height and is easy to carry around folded or unfolded but for those wanting to hike around as light as possible the extra 2.7 lbs might be a dealbreaker.
Not much more to say about it. I can recommend it at this point however I dont know how it will hold long term.
Took it with me yesterday evening while stalking a few Reed buntings doing their mating rituals
Male Reed bunting doing its utter best to attract the females while simultaneously singing and holding a Peacock caterpillar
Having success at it with one of the females approaching from below he finally turned her down however and left her on the spot
from my seat. Surprisingly, you can get much closer than on foot.
Yes, you confirm what I felt.
