Went to Appin yesterday and did the Clach Thoull walk. Clach Thoull is Gaelic for 'hole in the rock'.
    Here's how the name arose.

There are some nice views out over Loch Linnhe

Thanks Craig. Guess what - it's back to rain today after nearly a week of fine, dry weather. It was fun while it lasted.

A very nice set Dave. The azaleas are beautiful. What are the yellow flowers? I see people looking out over the sea. That seems to be a common activity shared by people around the world. Too bad about the change in the weather. It is sunny here today, so far!

A nice set of pictures, Dave. I like the view from the road at Loch Linnhe best.

Except, I don't like the first. It is creepy. You have shown it before and it is a fey place. I researched on Scottish folklore and I found that around that part of The Highlands can be found The Boobrie. And, it likes places of opportunistic concealment just like that one. I think you ought to go through that, just at the right time, then go around and see if you've come out the other side. If not, The Boobrie got you, but you won't know it 'till later.

Beware The Boobrie. What is the Gaelic for hole in the head? Rich

It's a very nice walk Paul. Be sure to bring your bird food.😄

The yellow flowers are gorse bushes. They look good but are very prickly bring covered in thorns.

Ceann is Gaelic for head. As in Maol Ceann Dearg, a mountain in the north west. Translates as 'big red head' or maybe big redhead.😊

Never come across a boobrie bird at least not yet. Been through the hole a few times without any problems but maybe I'm not really here.

Looks like a good day for a walk and great set of pictures to look through as we sit here with our morning coffee .. Interesting that the first few I cannot get in the gallery view! ... Sorry I could go along yesterday but internet problems prevented my traveling with you ...

I missed you on my walk. I was sitting on the bench gazing out over the loch to the hills beyond desperate for a coffee and thinking,' if only WN was here'.

I'm stumbling around this new forum and occasionally getting lost. Learning something new is fine. Remembering it is the hard part.😊
