I love how you make the color, composition, and the defocus work to draw our attention to the hood ornament.

Don’t worry, there’s absolutely no requirement that photographs be taken the same month that they are posted.

The first portrait photo from April is my favorite.

Posted mostly to exhibit the lens characteristics, composition wasn't great, but I like how it shows the OOF rendering:

(Alan: this one's a lot easier to hand-hold than the Series 1 70-210. :) Might even work for you on your EOS M.)

From ACS Helsinki yesterday, I shot the whole show with this old Canon lens (FL 55 1.2). Also carried 28/3.5 Pentax K and 17/4 FE Takumar, but didn´t bother to change lenses.

Very nice! Interesting bokeh in the first one… do you remember what aperture you were using?

What was ACS Helsinki - a museum or a temporary show?

BTW You impressed me with you bottle top picture!!
What a wonderful pic using a common object everybody have seen a thousand and thousand times in his life.
You've seen it completely as an art object.
    You're great.

Hmm, thanks, didn't knew that, but I was thinking about cards, check Microsoft Solitaire.

Love the look and bokeh - beautiful shot!

Thanks a lot - I'm happy to hear you like it. I actually did quite a few different macro-shots of bottles and it's always interesting to experiment with those:

    Steinheil Repro-Objektiv 80 mm f/4.5

I've mentioned this interesting lens once in one of the dpreview threads. It's a simple lens (4 elements in 2 groups, if my observations are correct) and my particular sample afflicted by severe separation. I find its performance quite impressive in the center though and the added blur and flaws outside of it give it a unique look.

It actually seems to be faster than f/4.5 so I assume that the inscription is meant as the value the manufacturer deemed it usable at, for its intended repro-application.

Incoming Geese and Godwits at Haastrecht, NL.

    Hi all,

I was hoping for some closer shots of the godwits but no such luck today.
They're the Dutch national bird because they are the harbingers of Spring.
You can see a flight of some 30 of them in the middle of the picture.
They arrive in the Dutch polder each Spring to breed, coming all the way
    from Spain and Portugal.

    Nikon Z5 and Series E 3.5 75-150mm at 75mm f8 + Kipon NIK-N/Z adapter.

    André

PS - Posted in the Adapted Lens Talk earlier but it belongs here in the April thread.
Apologies to kohinoor and Deb789 who gave it a 👍 before. Thanks!

Great colors - I like this image the most! Very well captured with all the beautiful shapes and tones.

I like this one! The vignetting might be a bit distracting (can it be further reduced or is this with correction already applied?) but the details look very good and the background and light are fantastic.
