An invitation to dust off your precious (or not so precious) glass and head out to make some photographs: the real reason for the existence of all our lenses.

    Here are the guidelines:

    • Images with a removable adapter between lens and camera
    • Images with the lens mount permanently modified to fit a different camera
    • Images with the lens held by hand without an adapter (freelensing)
    • Including metadata (camera, lens, aperture, shutter speed) is encouraged but not required.
    • Comments are encouraged, but please keep them friendly and constructive.

Continued from years of similar threads on the original DPR Adapted Lens Talk forum.

    Regards,

    Alan

Let’s see. A few rough edges, but this seems to work. I can’t post images larger then 4 MB, but I can link to images on Flickr and that’s good enough. I can’t change the title and there doesn’t seem to be any hierarchy, but I would hope those features are on their way. The white background is awful for photos, but again I’d hope a better alternative will be offered in the future.

Flickr might be a better place to view and comment on photos, but I’ll give this option a trail.

    Regards,

    Alan

Meyer Kinon Superior 5 cm f/1.8 (projection lens)

Thanks Alan - great to see that this thread is starting here as well! While the forum is certainly not feature complete and there's a high probability that it won't have some of the special features of the original dpreview one, I feel like this is probably the most promising alternative. I certainly won't post in the facebook-based dpforum. Posting images from flickr is already easier here than it was on the dpreview forum by the way, so I appreciate that.

This is a wonderful projection lens by Meyer, the Kinon Superior 5 cm f/1.8. It's not very sharp but produces interesting results when used up close.

    Welcome everybody! 💐

Thanks Alan for providing us a second home. 👍

Uploading via the Flickr BB code is a good way to post images here.
However, for those who don't have Flickr, there's a good description
further down this thread by meow about how to link photos directly:

    Bushtit

Bushtits are constantly moving and as such are quite difficult to photograph. However, today I was lucky. I think it was a combination of better AF with the M50 Mark II and the little guy or girl being more interested in the aphids (note the ladybug) in the jacarandas.

Image of a Bushtit in a Jacaranda

Canon M50 Mark II with Canon EF to EF-M adaptor, Kenko TELEPLUS-HD 1.4x DGX extender, and Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM at 350 mm (cropped to 400 mm), f/8, 1/400 second, and ISO 320.

Very nice! I like the second one in particular because of the composition and the beautiful streaks in the green.

I took a couple of significantly different shots of similar flowers.

Oh, sorry; that's with the Sigma fp.

Started with the 70-150 on the Lumix S5, then decided to try it on the fp to see how it would balance, and to my surprise it was very usable.

Love the water beading. Do you get frustrated when the flowers just refuse to face in a direction you can shoot? :)

This one at least doesn't have to worry about getting face-on to the flower. :) Pillow, indeed. Nice.

Thanks. Yes, indeed... it can be disappointing because there's a whole bunch of them and each one is looking down... 😅

I find it very interesting to get this close to the petals - they start to show a kind of structure you just can't see with the naked eye. Here's another example:

I really like the composition - excellent work. I don't say this very often (I mostly prefer color photography) but this might look great in B&W.
