Out of boredom when I want to take a break from a boring job, I take a look at the M43 forum ( amongst others) on DPR, as there is always some gear fun to be had, with some totally absurd post to laugh at.

I saw your thread and I cannot understand why you have been pre moderated. But that is how those two "a" holes who moderate the DPR M43 carry on. I always preferred my Panasonic lenses, compared to those proposed by Olympus, as they were smaller lighter and optically good, compared to the heavy bulky Olympus 2.8 zooms. But the Olympus fanboys always pooh-poohed any criticism of their God, if you compared their gear unfavourably to Panasonic.

I hardly post on DPR, I just cannot be bothered. You never know when you are going to get "moderated" over some innocent comment or thread. They seem to moderate by punishing those who start a thread, and not those with the "correct opinions", who cause mayhem. I much prefer the atmosphere here.

PS Jim give us a clue.

As I mentioned in that thread ,Westminster rules apply lies and misinformation are just dandy, however if you dare point this out you will be the one in trouble ๐Ÿ˜€ Really comedy relief often unintended is the forums secret attraction

It was a mistake selling my M43 gear, I have no reason to visit the comedy "add on" this format has generated on DPR. The DPR Z forum is just so boring, nobody gets angry, no format wars, no nothing really.

Back in the day this thread where I talk positively about M43, got me a ban, thanks to the second part of the thread. The usual morons created a shit storm, and I took the rap..

My favourite landscape picture ever was taken on an Old EM5 I, it still lives on my computer as the screen background.

This is the problem with gear forums, is that, if there are no รฉquivalence wars, no owner insecurity, or any other motive for an online punch up, gear forums get pretty boring very quickly. Out of the box product defects and "What lens do I need, for my trip to Milton Keynes?" , mainstays of gear forums lead to rapid loss of interest in a forum.

And yet you keep going back there, again & again & again. The definition of insanity, is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result.
And then to top it all off, you run in here, & complain about it. Get a life man.

I look very occasionally as you and your friends on the M43 forum are a wonderful source of entertainment, in moments of boredom. I quess it is a bit like those who visited Bedlam Hospital to watch the antics of the inmates.

Nige, if you want entertainment (in a good way) visit the MF forum its better than m43 forum.

I nominate the bold sentence above as most witty posting of the week! ๐Ÿ˜€

I confess, that I once lived in Milton Keynes. It was my first house and MK was cheap, much cheaper than London. Actually it was not a bad place to live, lots of good country pubs and it was pretty green and spacious compared to Chiswick where I rented a horrible flat.

Only time I went to Milton Keynes was in 1982 to see Peter Gabriel and Genesis do a one off re-union gig at the MK outdoor bowl. Other than that, MK is not worth visiting especially because of the ugly way they designed it from scratch- ugh!

Actually, there was an interesting article in the Guardian today praising MK, accompanied by a nice photo.

Except that I'm not on the m4/3 forum. Haven't been for years.

That thread deserved to be locked. It's an off-topic, ego stroking troll by the OP. Good riddance to him.

I don't have any insight into the matter, but what I find interesting, is that a couple of people come here (almost exclusively) to discuss things considering dpreview, which wouldn't be allowed there, but seem to disappear to that very site the minute it comes to discussing images etc. in order to make good use of the large audience there... A bit discouraging to be honest.

Nope- dreadful moderation period! Locking threads with such pathetic ease that they do over there is appalling and wrong.

Not really - more likely than not I was just overreacting cause I'm a bit frustrated with this place to be honest.

Sorry, we do have plans, but are limited by the people being ill or having real work to do. Bear with us (or don't).

Yeah, I get that! Some things can't be changed. Still I can't help but think, there was a lot of missed opportunity earlier when everyone was here, even though (to be fair) no one knew how things would turn out with dpreview coming back. And apart from the team, I just thought there were more than a handful of people committed to this place.

    Simplejoy,

Please do not give up. Your and a few others' images are truly inspiring. Hopefully you are aiding the gestation of the best photo site on the web
