I hope this is in the right place here... I wasn't sure, but since it touches on a couple of different subjects (photographic history, printing, adapted lenses...) yet, isn't entirely published here (which I presume is the idea for the "photographic history" section(?), I thought I'll just post it here and ask @AlanSh to move it, if there is a more appropriate place...

The weirdos escaped from the (mini)labs!
    by simple.joy, on Flickr

I've finally managed to publish my second article on a quite unusual family of industrial lenses, namely the ones labeled Noritsu and used in their minilabs/one-hour-labs in the 80s and 90s. Some of those lenses are made by big names such as Nikon or Tamron and there are even rumors of Tomioka/Zeiss being involved... In addition to some information about these unusual lenses, I also tried to show an array of images taken with them.

If you're interested you can find the article here:
    deltalenses.com/the-makers-noritsu/

I appreciate any feedback or help in correcting errors, adding additional information and hope that at least some people enjoy reading about an unusual topic no one has ever attempted to write about (of course, why would they want to... 😂) as far as I'm aware.

Again - we seriously need tags system or cross-posting capabilities. Because we don't have either, then current forum looks about right.
History would be second option. Also nowhere is stated that forum postings cannot be links to interesting things, thereby no need to worry about partial content.

Otherwise - very interesting reading, thank you!

Thanks a lot - I really appreciate it!

In case someone doesn't have the time or motivation to take a look at the full article, here are a couple of shots made with some of these lenses, to perhaps give you an idea, why I found it a worthwhile endeavor to try adapting and using those unusual lenses:

I had indeed a lot of fun, even though the research part can be a bit tiresome from time to time!

    Thanks a lot!

I used one of those lenses again recently and they're still lots of fun to play around with:

Now, if I'd only know for sure who made them! Damn you, Nikon for not commenting...
