Because it appears, that @AlanWF has moved the thread back to DPReview, where there is more traffic, I hope he doesn't mind if I continue the tradition of this thread here, in order to provide a place to show images made with adapted lenses, and (compared to other image sharing threads) perhaps also get a little bit more into the details of the lenses they were shot with, as well as the adaptors/tools etc.

So this is an invitation to dust off your precious (or not so precious) glass and head out to make some photographs: the real reason for the existence of all our lenses.

    Here are the guidelines:

    • Images with a removable adapter between lens and camera
    • Images with the lens mount permanently modified to fit a different camera
    • Images with the lens held by hand without an adapter (freelensing)
    • Including metadata (camera, lens, aperture, shutter speed) is encouraged but not required.
    • Images can be, but are not required to have been taken this month, so feel free to add some adapted lens shots from your archives as well

Comments are encouraged, but please keep them friendly and constructive.

Continued from the July 2023 thread.

A BIG THANKS to @AlanWF for providing this great framework and trying to keep things up here as well for a while! 👍

    Rodenstock Vario-Rodagon 44-52 mm f/4 (enlarging lens)

This is (apparently quite an uncommon) enlarging lens with variable focal length. Of course the range is not comparable to most zoom-lenses, because as far as I know it was used inside some minlabs.

It's quite sharp for a variable focal length lens... I wonder which one of the ones I own is the sharpest. I guess I'll have to make a comparison at some point in the future.

Great shot with outstanding detail and sharpness! Do you know if your Apo-Lanthar is similar to the (presumably) older LTM/M39 version that I have? Mine is a pretty good lens, but of course not quite at the level of the legendary 125 mm version, I assume...

Here are two images made with the 90 mm f/3.5 in LTM mount:

Two outstanding images. The second one particularly catches my eye. Very nice

Thank you. I agree it's sharp enought for a hand-held shot. Sharp are your pictures too.
I also have been thinking it's quite good a lens but nothing special. This is the second
time I'm surprised how sharp it is with the close up lens. I must use it more!

I don't know what are the differences between the (older?) LTM version and SL II.
I guess it's only the mount and maybe some small tweaking because Leica's sensor cover glass is thicker.

I'm not even sure if I have the II version! There's nowhere in lens body any II sign.
I bought it used and it came in original(?) box. In the box the name is SL II, but the lens looks like this:

Thanks for that - I guess there might be some differences. If I got the info correctly there were more than 10 years between these versions, so it would be strange to re-release it without any changes.

I really don't have a lot of experience with Voigtländer lenses, but it's also a strange company, because as far as I know their owner/manufacturer (Cosina) has nothing to do with the old brand, except using the trademark I guess. It has its roots in my home country Austria though... one of two notable manufacturers as far as I know and the other one (Reichert) has always been quite specialized and mostly forgotten as well.

    Decorative Pot

Pot was fired on open wood fire, horsehair added during firing (i think) and incised. Photographed today 20230822 with Vivitar 50mm 2.8 VHE enlarging lens and a couple of speed lights. Lighting is clumsy. Just have to keep working on that.
