Automated street photography with a Raspberry Pi

Way back I was involved with the Raspberry Pi, a tiny computer aimed at kids for learning how to code and which also has camera modules. In my experimentation I put the Rapberry Pi, a PowerBank and the attached camera in a cardboard box for 5x7" paper and attached it to the luggage rack of my bicycle facing backward.

I set it to take a jpeg every second and walked and rode through Amsterdam for a few days. Here's the result, from 2013:

The 'photography' was effortless, but shifting through the thousands of shots was a daunting task. Hope you like the result.

Fascinating! Given that no human being actually pressed the shutter, or decided what the camera was looking at, this must have been driven by AI...

That's cool. Full stealth mode. I think if it can be combined with more controlled composition and shooting mode it will be very efficient. Otherwise it is a bit spray and pray.

I like the entire series but if I had to pick a favorite I'd say the very first picture, it has a lot going for it, great artpiece.

Amai g how this worked out. I really like street photography, but I always thought it is all about being at the right place at the right time.
This places everything in an other perspective.
