    I like that, but I feel it needs a star or two in the darker part of the sky. I say that because I looked at it on my screen and there was something on the screen that just fitted perfectly. When I moved the screen, the extra bit moved away and the picture (to me) didn't look as good.

    You know, you're absolutely right. If only I had taken the photo later in the evening, that would have been way more cool. Next time I'm that way, maybe I'll plan for that shot -- assuming, of course, I remember where this was taken! : )

    Just add some small white dots to the picture?

    I'll do subtractive editing but not additive. I mean, I guess if I had taken two exposures, one for the foreground and one for the stars (although it was too bright to see stars for this particular photo), and then merged them, that would be OK. But ad-hoc adding stars (or anything else) into a photo doesn't sit well with me, even given that it results in a more pleasing final "photo".
