your and others problem is that you have no sense of humour and instantly go on the offensive, when clearly over the years talking any form of FF on m43 forum is totally banned, period. didnt you like the old 35mm olympus camera i posted ? it was suppose to be a snarky thread to the hypocritical m43 members that posted 90% of the images in the black and white thread from FF 35mm and MF cameras. LOL
just glad this new forum has a sense of humor moving forward.
In general, different people have different ideas of what's amusing. Personally I like my jokes primarily as some sort of mix of dry, absurd and containing obscure references to literature, movies etc. Trying to be provocative for just the sake of getting a reaction is a cheap trick that gets old pretty soon in my books, but YMMV.
Yep, I find it very amusing when people get upset when I don't just blindly accept the images they post are actually theirs especially when they post nothing to prove they are theirs.
LOL i know who you are now. why didnt you use your old name :-)
this post absolutely cracked me up a long time ago, this guy was trying to run me out of town for steeling an image when the college stole it from me LOL.
Kind of reminds me of a somewhat absurd situation I got into back in the day. I was enjoying ice cream in a park in a foreign city, when some fellow came to me and demanded me to prove that I wasn't an undercover narcotics agent. I quickly realised that there was no realistic way of being able to prove that :)
Not sure what you mean. There was a guy, DonB I think, on the old DPR who had no sense of humour at all when anyone questioned the authenticity of his posted images :-D If you are DonB, then why didn't you use your old name? ;-)
It was you who earlier this thread posted "your and others problem is that you have no sense of humour and instantly go on the offensive,....."
Maybe you should practise what you preach and not get upset and go on the offensive when anyone "stirs" you up as you "stir" others up as you described :-)
Yeah, I got that a lot at the old DPR. At last count there were 8 different aliases I was accused of being.
The funniest one was that one member on the old DPR accused bobn2, yes the same bobn2 as here now, and I of being the same person. That's obviously very flattering for me but I don't think bobn2 was too happy about someone accusing him of being me.
I remember you from way back when I posted in the Fujifilm forum, as well as the comments section of the news site. I recall more than once thinking you were rude to someone or another, or trying to ignite some sort of flame war.
That's not to say you deserve a permanent ban, obviously, but so far only you've said your ban was unfair. Also, I'm pretty sure they now hand permanent bans like candy given the future of DPR, I wonder whether you'd have received that had the same situation unfolded a year ago.
Seriously, I wonder why anyone who has a posting history of posts with actual content should ever get a permaban. Just as in real life, we have to deal with all kinds of personality types here. And just as in real life it takes a bit of give and. Just because someone is a bit prickly, or has a weird sense of humour, or is 'rude' by someone else's social standards is not a reason for excluding them from a community. Abuse, hate speech and bullying is a different matter, obviously.
I have no idea who you mean. But DonB could have used your advice back then to have a sense of humour when anyone pressed his buttons. He had a very thin skin and was too easy to stir up :-)
I see there are 263 pages worth of "David...." LOL!!!!!
Phil sold DPR at the peak of the 2007 bubble, just before the global economy imploded, and before smartphones decimated the camera business. He made out like a bandit and I cannot imagine that Amazon ever recovered what they paid for the site. Obviously for a company like Amazon it's just a blip on the balance sheet but it still makes me smile.
