Apparently "I coordinate with a moderator through "another site" (this site) to get around DPReview moderation policies, in exchange for posting in their forum"
What a joke!
It just shows how immature and childish some of those moderators are.
Amazon have taken away their little playgrounds and now some of them are throwing tanties like a 3 year old in the kindergarten sandpit who had their bucket and spade taken from them :-)
Totally childish, apparently they don't know that ship is going to sink in 90 hours. I bet I am not going to be the only one "banned" these days LOL
what exactly were they trying to say?
This Mod has a good sense of humor www.dpreview.com/forums/post/66986337
Good he cannot be banned for life himself đđđ
How bizarre (and quintessentially fascist, might I add). Tiny little authoritarians are shining their jackboots with glee.
If it's any consolation, we'll all be (effectively) "banned for life" from DPR - including the moderator who did the banning - in just another five days or so. đđ¤
Think I was banned or something for posting about DPrevived in the Canon EF-M section (even though the thread is still up and active) and having it in my sig too. I can't post without mod approval anymore. Don't really care with only a few days left anyway.
Sounds like the mod has sandboxed you. Oh well, their regime will fall on the 10th
I am not surprised. A bunch of their mods created their own forum (list in image), so it is likely they don't want any of the members from the old site going here.
One of them banned me because I called him out on his accusing me of being a liar (he also deleted / modified my posts to protect his "image"). That is not behaviour becoming of a mod.
They created their own forum! Where did you get that idea from. That forum was started by someone else that owns several other forums from over the years.
Danny.
I never had any problem with their moderators but with five days to go I donât know why they care.
I'm not entirely sure that list is up to date, so don't shower opprobrium at them all. You'll find one there who has posted seven times the number of messages here as there and is very active building this community.
I've had lots of useful discussions with Tom & never had any issues with his moderation, even on threads of 'where do we go next'. So I don't think it fair to tar them all with the same brush, but there are a couple there who I've heard do not moderate but instead inflame!
I hope they get over their god complex once DPR has closed but I'm not optimistic.

There are some moderators who can interact completely differently with different people. That is, they are not even handed. Individual experience doesn't mean that they weren't acting badly with others.
Why does anyone care. DPR has less than 5 days until everyone and their dog is banned. There was a blurb on PP this morning about Phil Askey calling out Amazon. Maybe a bit hypocritical since he made his by selling to Amazon and then working for Amazon for three years after the acquisition.
DPR is toast. Jordan and Chris jumped overboard to PP the day after the announcement. Who knows what will happen to the staff - hopefully they got other offers or enough of a severance package to give them time to look. In less that 5 days - moderation at DPR will not be needed as it is read only. Who knows how long Amazon will pay for the disk space to maintain the large amount of data associated with DPR and yes they have to pay for it since they could otherwise lease it to paying users.
I expect Amazon will maintain the domain name for the foreseeable future. DPR is old news. Time to move on.

Of course, at the beginning of the announcement, everybody was blaming Amazon for its evil practices and I thought "maybe the one to blame is the guy who sold DPR to them in the first place" LOL
Fully agree itâs time to move on. As for Phil Askey and Amazon, itâs chicken and egg really - as much as he started it and got that egg rolling, it simply wouldnât have become the behemoth it did without Amazon behind it, and may never have lasted as long as it did either. Donât get me wrong, I think Amazon are (and have always been) thoroughly heartless, but I donât blame Phil Askey for that.
