I seem to gaining a collection of batteryless Exposure Light-meters. Sekonics appear to hold their sensitivity much better than Weston models.

    Here it is:

Notice that there is no scale on the meter, unlike foot-candles on other models. You turn the circular scale until the cursor thingy in the meter window lines up with the needle. So ... what is the foot-candles for a given circular scale position??

From the image above for example, it is recommending f/2.8 at 1/60 sec at ISO 100 - equivalent to about 83 foot‑candles, says you-know-who ...

    Cool gadget :)

Did you compare it to other [camera or battery-powered] meters - how much it errs?

Not yet. My reference device is a new BTMETER model BT-5000A, accuracy +/- 4% of reading in my range of interest 0-929 fc (0-10000 lux).

I don't have any battery-powered exposure meters. Sold my Gossen StarLite (?) long ago.

    Ho ho ho !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sekonic still makes the battery-less L-398A model which, unlike all previous battery-less models, has an amorphous silicon light sensor and which will last a lot longer than me. Normally around $250 online - but today I spotted one for $90 being sold with an older model manual and accessories. Just had to order it.

I still have and use a Weston Master III with my older meterless cameras.

The III has always been my favorite. When the first one I had was stolen I got this one to replace it. Not as nice and it didn't have the case like my other one did. I also have a Master V, but it isn't working. Unfortunately, a few years ago when I went to try to get it repaired, I found out that Quality Light-Metric was no longer in existence, so it's more of a museum piece now. Time passes.

    Hi,

Yep, the newer silicon ones will be better for longer than the older selenium ones, for sure.

If you can find a Master 6 (not VI - the Master 6 was made by Sekonic but labeled "Weston") it might still be good, as is mine.
