Normally they are very shy, and flee before I can get close enough to be within range of my zoom, but this specimen is almost urban and is a little more tolerant, it seems... -

American Bald Eagle. The light was terrible and it was difficult to get a good shot. Plus the big guy was staring me down like he was going to swoop down and grab the camera out of my hands, which was a little unsettling.

Eastern Rosella Parrot
This is an unusual shot as these birds don't normally hang out in the open - preferring the cover of foliage. In the wild they are also very skittish and all the previous shots I have of them were just too far away to use. So I am grateful for this capture as I hadn't realised the variety of colour in its plumage.

These are a couple of Noisy Miner chicks in a tree in my front yard a few weeks ago.

There are quite a few Noisy Miners around here and a not so scared young one often flies in under the verandah catching small spiders. Sometimes it will perch on the clothesline just over my head - drives the dog crazy...
