I think in this case, the colour version carries more impact.

I like the monochrome as well only because I have no idea what those streaks of red, blue and white are in the middle of the colour version. For my eyes, they are way too much of an eye magnet. They are much less distracting in the monochrome. Otherwise for this type of scene I generally prefer the colour version.
