As discussed in the Moderation Thread,
sometimes two or more users will get bonkers (especially about brands)
What about we make a special category where can settle things without pollution the origin thread.

They may take a fight at all means until everybody cools down and looses interest.
This would be one really transparent way.

    Any thoughts ?

The Ars Technica forums call this Battlefront. Anything goes. No holds barred. Perhaps we could name it Thunderdome — Two men enter…

I think I am against this in principle because if the audience sees two participants behaving badly in one forum, they may think it's OK to do it anywhere.

I would argue that any sane and reasonable user stays well clear by virtue of rational thinking. It provides a sandbox for those who take pure enjoyment in arguing… But I don’t really have a dog in this particular race.

    Hissy Fit Arena?

No, thanks. That would be like throwing tires on a trash fire.

Letting users go at each other will likely only fuel grudges, and have disgruntled users follow each other into other sub-forums, polluting other threads with sniping and bickering.

I'm aware of a photography forum that added such a feature. Didn't solve anything. Civility declined overall across the forum as battle-scarred combatants brought their grudges and attitudes with them back into other sections.
