Firstly, I'd like to thank the site team for putting DPRevived together, and doing such a good job in a very short timescale.

I do have a (hopefully simple) feature suggestion though:

When I get to the bottom of a particular thread, most forums (including DPReview and DPRforum the place that shall not be named) have a link back to the parent forum. That seems to be missing here on DPRevived, unless I've missed it? I would like to have that added please, as it would save me having to scroll back to the top of the page each time I finish reading a thread.

    Like so:

I'll add that to the feature request.

I think I've asked about that myself with the team. I would also like that option.

I actually noticed that within the past few days, the site now list the Exif of uploaded images. I think that deserves an "at a boy" to the team working to refine the sites experience. My long term wishes is the UI evolve to mimic the thread architecture of the DPReview forums that kept everything nicely organized. The instant link back to the forum is all part of that. But so far DPRevived has come a long way and we should all be happy about that.

I think that's actually an easy one. It could probably go in the 'Shortcuts' dropdown.

I use the Browser's "BACK" button to get back to the previews page, once twice or more, till I land on the starting page.

Or If you really feel lazy like me ... I have another suggestion:

I open the threads I want to read with "RightClick" > OpenInNewWindow.
When I've finished reading I close that windows only, finding myself where I started

    Hope it Helps

Every forum I create, I've added the breadcrumb at the bottom. It's just too convenient. I know there's other ways, but I really like it there.

DPReview had the 'F' key shortcut to do something similar.

Since I don't want to create another post, I ask here... Are you have any plans to add (if so, when) notifications and alerts? It still is a pain to navigate a thread in order to see if someone replies. Tks!

Yes, we do have plans. But you already can just look at 'subscribed' threads in a forum. Which is ones where you have had a post or reply. Any new ones will be at the top with a blue left icon.

Thank you Alan. But still, I have no idea where are those subscribed threads with blue icons.

Oh sorry - let me explain.

Head for a forum, say "Open Talk". You should see something like this:

    image.png

Note the blue icons on the left of each post. Click on one of those to go to the first unread. But, if you want to just look at threads you have participated it, you need to click on 'All threads'.

    image.png

That will pull down a small menu and you click on 'subscribed threads'. Once you do that, you then see this:

    image.png

The ones with blue icons are subscribed threads with new posts.

    Does that help?

    Hi,

    Ha!

The Place That Shall Not Be Named

I like the new name for it. Made me go look, though. I haven't in several weeks. I gave it up for dead. And it appears pretty much dead now as it did then.

It may be time to dump the bookmark to it. I had many such bookmarks, one by one they have wound up dumped.

Only three left out of many. Soon to be two, I think. The original and here.
