With late summer arriving I'll move from birds to butterflies to practice in flight photography ( I guess that is what I'm doing.)
These were all done with the Olympus ProCap process where half pressing the shutter button starts the collection of frames which will be recorded when and if I completely press the shutter button. ...Other systems have similar capability under other names .... Normally I would share these on a DPR forum where there is a community that I have had and am having conversations with ... but the last time I tried posting pictures there I had problems. AND it is actually easier to post these series on this site!! ....... I hope to generate a new group here that has some interest in this conversation, something I've been unsuccessful with to this time ....
This series is the first of several recorded in several sessions devoted to learning my way into the process and working with butterflies ... One of the problems with this process of ProCap is the number of files generated -- a couple thousand over two days and maybe less than an hour or so in actual shooting time ...More than half of those files have already been discarded and there are several dozen sequences yet to work through .... I'll have butterflies for the rest of this and into next month before the leaves start to fall and I go back to birds .... Thomas Stirr is deep into using this process for dragonflies but I have found that process tedious without a tripod and patience as dragon flight can be highly unpredictable .... ProCap is a different discipline and takes time to learn (for me) as it moves partially into video thinking ...
Not sure where to post these as the 4/3rds weekly is no longer but ..... Look forward to any discussion ...
