I already own a M6 Mark II and eight Canon M-mount lenses (one of them the Sigma 56mm). Availability of the body is bad to say the least, and the prices are going up. I know there are some people who believe otherwise, but I think the Canon M-mount will die and it will be phased out by (worse in my opinion) RF-S lens equivalents.

I’ve already read the other M6 Mark II buying thread, but most people there seem to only have one, maybe two, systems, and they still see full-frame as a viable upgrade path. I’ve already a pretty complete RF kit, but I also own & love cameras and lenses for MFT, Fujifilm X, and Leica M. Compared to all the gear I own it is hard to justify the purchase of a second body just-in-case as a future backup if you know what I mean. On the other hand the worst-case would be to break my M6 Mark II, and then to sell all of my Canon M-mount lenses (small beloved primes included), because I couldn’t get a body for them anymore.

I don’t see any deals anymore. The cheapest I’ve found so far is $10 more expensive for body & kit lens than the kit I’ve got (body, kit lens, EVF) two years ago.

Last I looked Canon USA has all of these in their online store:
    - M6 MKII Body only (black) - refurb
    - M6 MKII Body only (silver) - refurb
    - Kit with M6 MKII, EF-M 18-150mm lens and EVF — new, not refurb

Hmmm, I looked a couple of minutes ago and they had only the silver one in the refurb store.

In the UK there are good used copies with dealer warranties - so a like new or excellent body should last.

I did own 2 but sold 1 - and see FF and RF not as a complete upgrade path - but the M6II is a fantastic camera and some great prime lenses + 11-22 and I like the (good copy) tiny 15-45 too. So for landscape and interiors / street work, the M6II is my go to camera - ahead of the R10,R7&R5 which come into their own with larger lenses and eye tracking AF - but larger and critically missing a good 50 equiv. prime and wide angle - and the RF 24-105 STM larger than the M 15-45 and the RF 18-45 a truly meh lens.

So maybe consider a good dealer copy 2nd hand with warranty?

I might buy a second body used, if I find one at a good price in order to have 2 lenses mounted to each body and can avoid to switch lenses.

I'm hoping Canon discounts the refurb M6 II on Black Friday like last year. I mean they are already discounting some of their refurb RF bodies fairly heavily, R7 for $1099 and R10 for $699. Can you imagine if they are in a rush to move leftover M6 II for $450 or there abouts?? Would be hard to pass up.
