I find it quite surprising that the most active equipment forum is m43, followed by Nikon, with Canon and Sony way behind.
Some way from what market shares would suggest.

Did this site start with a bias? ;)

I came across this site via postings to the m4/3 forums, and I suspect I'm not the only one. DPReview's m4/3 forum has been quite lively for a while, probably disproportionately so. I have to say I'm glad to see a lot fewer "equivalence" threads here 😂

I guess I'm definitely in the small minority then, with Pentax full frame... :-)

Yes, clearly the most intelligent people choose MFT.

Small but mighty minority... I'm also a Pentaxian.

Micro Four Thirds is dead and its users are just in a state of denial. Users of other systems are satisfied, the future of their system is secure, so they don't need to flood the forums with new threads and posts to try to justify their choice of system.

DPReview is getting more posts than it used to - so they are taking the more popular products at the moment.

We are ticking along nicely I think. We are doing better on generic camera topics rather than products - but that could all change depending on what happens elsewhere.

I use m4/3 because of equivalence.

Canon RF users have a dedicated active site (RFshooters) for example.

As I've mentioned elsewhere it does seem that this site has a bias in its posts as to more techie general issues whereas DPReview has more on specific cameras. May be related to the fact that their News feed is an attractiion that pulls people in.

I guess they care more about what gear they are using than those that use other brands.

On the DPR M43 forum, it often seemed like some sort of cult, where only the intelligent photographer used M43, and the idiots used "fool frame" as the inmates of that forum liked to chant. They had two masters of ceremonies who made sure dissenting voices got silenced.

What's tended to happen is that brands that had active and cohesive communities on DPReview have tended to look for a new home en bloc.

Yes, they were quite efficient at silencing the trolls!

Yea, they turned the forum into an "Only Fans" place.

    Bhaha good one!

I think only mentally stable people, aproximating healthy individuals, are MF people. Very rarely they argue, and they do what is needed. Their format is a standard. The sensor usually captures the image.

FF people suffer superiority complex, mocking anyone with lesser camera. Compared to MF sensor, there is not that much image left, but well, it is affordable, compact, and has great support. Any moment I had a FF camera in my hands, I felt like a better person.

APS-C people are in deep denial, forced to lie to the own community, to their friends, children, parents, not only about fair image quality on daily basis. There is not much image left in this crop sensor format, but oh well, it is yet more compact and cheaper. At the moment I am member of this group, looking up to the superior class again.
    False peple, don't trust them.

MFT people suffer equivalence madness, with equivalence that is not possible to reach. They know they are weak AF, but they will make other peoples day miserable to feel better. There is hardly any image (quality) left in the MFT format.
You better play petangue than shooting this format.

1" people are trolls grasping on flashy features of their poor trashy electronics store cameras that just lures money from these unwise individuals. There is about no image left on the sensor, yet they troll and bother everyone with their horrible snapshots like it was a good catch. Possibly because they did not pass puberty.

1/1.7"+ group of people are "happy idiots". They have no reason to be happy, as there is no image left from the camera output, yet they enjoy themselves. At least they don't engage in sensor wars as long as MFT-FF people don't come down and bully them to no end, which they do, to heal their complexes (which does not help any named group). They should be mute from all that abuse, yet their two brain cells somehow survived.

Therefore I conclude that most photographers are immature, sick, childish, broken, broke, otherwise unsuitable for society people. Be ashamed of yourself. No joking.

So where does that leave us poor little 1/2.3" sensormatics??? 😢

I guess we only have one brain cell. 😒

On the positive side, I guess we can't go backwards and the view is only up... 😌

I shoot 4/3 and M4/3. Also shoot all the Pentax digital formats including Q (both sensor sizes), APS-C, full frame, and medium format (645Z). Always did this with film cameras. Have everything from Minox C spy camera to 8×10 view camera. All formats have advantages and are enjoyable.

    All cameras crop the world!
