Can we have a Night-sky Photography section and an Astrophotography section? This was very unique on DPR. Both really do the same thing as far as photographing and shooting video of the cosmos, but one uses cameras attached to wide angle lenses and the other uses cameras attached to telephoto lenses and/or telescopes. You might think the two would get along, but no, we are humans, and therefore they are prejudiced against one another for some strange, unexplainable reason. So perhaps splitting them into two sections or sub-sections would work better.

    Thank you!

What do others think? Do they not get on together?

I would be in favor of splitting them, but I don't have a strong opinion. (I didn't notice any antagonism on DPR.)

    Hello,

First of all, many thanks to all for the incredible combined efforts to grow this site!

I think having separate categories would be better. In my case, I like shooting colorful night skies. Having a dedicated category would make it easier to search for information and share photos with like-minded individuals.

At some point, I would like to dabble in astrophotography. Again, searching and scrolling through a dedidcated category would be more user friendly, at least from my perspective.

I would prefer two categories Lowlight/ Night Photography and Astrophotography because
    those to are really diffrend.
