The 5DIV is a great camera. Obviously, it's a DSLR, so those that prefer mirrorless may prefer something else. But for those that are happy with DSLR's, the 5DIV is one of the best.

In my opinion, it is better than the 5DS on every measure except resolution. I use the 5DS in the studio, and the 5DIV everywhere else.

As long as I will still be shooting film with our various analog Eos bodies I'll be using DSLRs also, because the many EF lenses we own.
But do have a R and RP with a few RF lenses to see what's it like to shoot mirrorless and with an EVF and like that we can use our older EF lenses with the RF-Ef adapter.

I would buy a 5D IV if I didn't love my 5D III too much. Bought new in 2014, it still works very well. :)

I also still love my 5D III The IV is an improvement on nearly every front but not so much that I want to abandon the III

I've heard this complaint, I however have had no issues.

The 5D series still has some of the best ergonomics of any camera

I agree. I am quite happy to keep using them for the foreseeable future! I unfortunately dropped my 5D IV last week onto a hard marble floor from about 1.5 meters high which put a very slight dent in the magnesium shell which is preventing the lens release button from moving freely. It is currently en-route to Canon for repair. It kinda ruined my vacation. Back to using my 5D MKIII which isn't really a hardship

I just got an email from Canon stating that they will repair my 5D MKIV under the warranty despite the fact that it was damage from a fall. I'm really pleased with this decision obviously.
