I was hoping the R100 would have a M200 form factor, with a nice touch screen, for it to be my ‘almost pocketable’, discreet, take anywhere camera with this nice new little pancake lens or a future RFS 22. On the other hand, who else is selling a new ILC for $479, with a good sensor (love my M50 pictures), nice AF and very decent HD video? This camera is probably not for folks like us, who are part of a photography forum, but might entice many new users into the mirrorless world: moms shopping at Costco, youngsters creating a their new tik tok videos, etc. A flipping, touch screen would have helped but then you can spend a hundred bucks more and get the R50. Canon catering to all pockets. In my opinion, if one can afford, the sweat spot in the lineup is really the R10: small size, speed, IQ and AF from new processor/sensor, ergonomics (grip, dials, joystick, etc).
