Should one choose Canon RF Canon RF 24–240mm F4-6.3 USM Lens or RF24-105mm F4 L USM KIT for Canon R6 Mark II for day-to-day shooting?

We have both and both are very nice lenses and deliver very decent photos. Both lenses do rely on the embedded lens profiles in the R series bodies for the optimum results.
The 24-240 might lack just a bit on the contrast side but not much. I like the 24-240 for it range, ideal for hikes with minumum gear.

Lens choices always have a huge personal factor. It depends on your budget, what you are shooting, and what other lenses you will get.

The RF-24-240 is fantastic FOR at 10x zoom. It is very sharp in the center but does fall off in the corners at either end of the zoom range. It has fairly fast autofocus and very good image stabilization. You will be between about 1/2 and a full stop higher in f-number over most of the range it shares with the 24-105 f4.

I look at the RF24-105f4 as a bit of a tweener lens. It is not overly fast for low light and not particularly long on the telephoto end. For an outdoor walkaround lens, I would prefer the RF24-240. But the 24-105 will have better image quality in the corners. In all but the most critical viewing, I doubt you will see a big difference in the final image.

Others will differ, and we each have different preferences. The RF24-240 could be combined with a prime or two that will give you a sharper image with a shallower depth of field and better low-light performance when you want it.

I had thought of replacing my 24-240 with the 24-105 L when I went from the RP to the R6II. After a vacation in the Smoky Mountains, the 24-240 never left my camera. I was glad for the versatility. Still thinking about it. But I’m not sure I can part with the range. And I’ve got no complaints about image quality.

I have both lenses and they are both excellent, but for different uses. In my opinion, the RF 24-105 F4 L is superior (by just a little) in Image Quality. As a result, when I am home, or close to home, or in my car, my R5 tends to wear that lens. That's what I used for our family portrait at Christmas, for example. However, as a travel lens the 25-240 is unsurpassed (at least int he R/RF category). I took my R5, my 24-240, and my 14-35 L with me to Toronto last October and it was the perfect pairing. Light and wide ranging, and extremely capable. That's what will be going with me to Europe in May/June.

ChRiSiS is dead on :) I also have both and it depends on what I will be shooting. For general purpose the RF 24-105 is used for a simple reason, weight. I also have the RF 70-200 L that gets used very seldom now because of the RF 24-240. With the RF 70-200 f4 I would also must carry the RF 24-105 stm.

People on the old DPR forum were Obsessed with resolution. I dont think they ever stoped to think about what the pic will be viewed on. I use two Asus pro art 24" monitors @ 1920x1200 for 2.3mpx each, think about that for a minute. I use a Canon photo printer with a res of 400dpi. so a 11x17 is 4400x6800 for 30mpx same as my R :)

I have five RF lenses, and find the RF24-240 to be the most versatile general purpose one. I have no complaints about it: it takes great pictures for me, and if I take only one lens with me it is more often than not this one.

How is the capability of the indoor and night shooting by the Canon RF 24-240 mm F4-6.3 USM lens by comparing with the RF24-105 mm F4 lens?

Well, obviously it is between 1 and 1.5 stops slower. However, at least on my R5, this makes very little practical difference, unless I was very constrained by the available light to start with. The ability of the R5 (and the R7) to deliver excellent photos at what used to be considered extremely high ISOs is outstanding, especially when shooting in Raw, or when coupled with something like Topaz.

Actually, it is less than you suggested when you compare over the same focal range, there is a 1 stop or less difference from f4 (quibbling over 104mm at F5.6 versus 105mm+ at 6.3) with the RF24-240

    From www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/Canon-RF-24-240mm-F4-6.3-IS-USM-Lens.aspx

    RF24-240
    24-26mm = f/4.0
    27-43mm = f/4.5
    44-69mm = f/5.0
    70-104mm = f/5.6
    105-240mm = f/6.3
