Small is defined as - (a) of a size that is less than normal or usual: (b) insignificant; unimportant. You could view the topic as a chance to take out your macro lens (if you have one), or as an opportunity to shoot the smaller, less important things in life.
Up to you. Of course, you can interpret "small" however you want.
As usual creativity is encouraged.
