Some portraits of a friend after she had played a concert.
Nice set. Feels very natural.

Good set.
I think her right shoulder blade is a bit too prominent in the first. A little work in Photoshop could reduce the strength of the shadow.
Don
Thanks :)
Thanks Don - hadn't thought of that. I'll see if it works for me.
There are images that are well-shot but just don’t feel “right”…… these are NOT that. This isn’t the “smiling pianist” after the concert. These are better. The 1st-3rd image are a mystery …… they make me question what this is about and who this woman is.
Your set of images unveils, image by image, the woman pianist step by step to her final smile.
I love it. With ONE exception…… your lighting
This is about “mystery” (to me).. but the images are lit with lighting that is more “full” than “dark/mysterious”. If you were going for the sequence of images that show “mystery to the unveiling”, consider changing the lighting to be more moody the next time?
Overall: this is great work with your model.
Kudos to you. You should both be very proud.
Thank you very much :). I noticed that I completely forgot to include a more close up portrait, which we also did a few of. Maybe it will fit last in the series.
Regarding lighting. We did not have that much time after the concert, since the owners wanted to get home rather quickly and close the palace. I would have liked playing around with some flashes as well. Hence, the lighting is just the ambient lighting and I tried to focus more on posing and some sort of variety of the images. Yikes, portraits is really hard and there is so much to be explored :)
