Time to "revive" this section :) I just got some clip-in filters for my Nikon Z7 and I am kind of regretting it for one simple annoyance: dust. I cannot keep my sensor / filters dust-free for the life of me. I'm really thinking about ditching them and going back to my lens filters.
Does anyone else have any thoughts?

Second. I believe messing around with filters next to the moving sensor, is a bit risky. You add some risk inserting them and extracting them.
Nice set of images! I only use lens filters. But then my camera is a Nikon D810. If I get a Nikon Z converted, I think I will still use the lens filters, since I have them. Your dust problems add to that decision.
It's not that much of a risk to me. I haven't had any close calls. The clip-in filters are quite large compared to the sensor opening.
I'm going to put them away for now. Not going to sell them but going to go back to using lens filters for the time being.
Is there any advantage to clip-in filters, apart from not needing different sizes to match different lenses?
I have always used lens filters, on the basis that the extra cost per lens is marginal, and they protect the front glass of the lens.

No real advantages other than only needing one filter versus multiple for lens filters. However, I need to test more, but with the Nikon Z 14-30mm I was getting a color hotspot when using a lens filter. I don't believe I am getting it with the clip-in filter. If that's the case, then that would be a nice win for clipins. I think my problem is I switch between my IR clipin filter and the hot mirror clipin filter. If I simply stick with my IR filter it would probably be ok.
I don't see where changing clip-in filters results in more dust on the sensor than changing lenses.
