I've been meaning to go back through my old filter options now that I have more experience with shooting and conversion. The local weather conditions have not been cooperative with my schedule, so the project is going slower than I'd like 😅 In the spirit of not letting the perfect be the enemy of the good, I managed to rattle off a quick sequence before a thunderstorm rolled in. I'll revisit this thread when I have better conditions and probably share a set of raw files for folks interested in taking a closer look. I'd love to see more scene comparisons from anyone who has them!
For now, here's six options on a full spectrum camera:
This is using a Kolari hot mirror to de-convert the full spectrum to visible light.
No filter, so a full spectrum capture.
B+W 040 Orange filter, rated at 550nm. Channel swap in Photoshop.
B+W 091 Dark Red filter, rated at 630nm. Channel swap in Photoshop.
Hoya Infrared (R72) filter, rated at 720nm. Black and white conversion.
Kolari Vision Blue IR filter. I'm not sure what the cutoffs are.
