I'm not going to play Donald. The precise forecasts were erroneous for the reasons I have already explained. The basic facts and direction of Climate Change remain rock solid. Try telling the Pacific islands that their villages aren't disappearing into the ocean. Conversation over.

    climatefactchecks.org/did-ipcc-predict-the-maldives-would-be-underwater-by-2018/

Regardless, even if they had made that forecast back in 1980 (which they didn't, be even if), it would have been a best guess prediction from 65 years ago without the benefit of all the additional data and computing power that we have today. It would be like saying "In 1980, physicists predicted we'd have working fusion power plants by 2000" as "proof" that commercially viable fusion power is a hoax.

I will try and set the record straight though.

Most atolls are sinking to some degree. It is a reality of the volcanoes they sit on. The fact that some journalist conflated that with sea rise due to global warming and no doubt exaggerated the rate is unfortunate but none the less if donald wants to believe everything he hears then we will rarely get any common sense from him.

You didn't hear it from a scientist donald, you heard it from a journalist. You need to learn to fact check or find a more reputable news source.

This thread is going nowhere and has nothing to do with the core interests of DPrevived. Please get a real life, people, and show us photos of it!
