Hello, this is my first thread/post here. I am beginner in cosplay photography and here are some of the photos I took at anime conventions.

Thanks for the compliments. I tried doing what you instructed and now the photos are gone from the post so I had to re-edit and add them back haha.
Reminds of of walking around the Akihabara district in Tokyo. Saw this everywhere.
I know cosplay is quite a big thing in Japan but I didn't know it was THAT big. Makes me wanna visit it more now haha. I recently upgraded to a nikon d7000 from my previous nikon d40. I will be posting more cosplay shots that I do in the coming weeks.
Please do..,and list the locations if you can as well.
Here are some photos I took over at Sungei Wang Plaza in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The event is called Akiba Raya Sales.

I've done a couple of cosplay outfits for my portfolio but I can't find them. When I do I'll post some in this thread. These photos are great Anime characters. Those outfits and shoes are not cheap 😕

I agree! Cosplaying isn't cheap, especially when trying to source the outfits from international sites like Taobao which may be risky plus the struggle of translating other languages and different standards of clothes sizes/measurements. Great shots btw!
Knew a fair number of cosplayers in my time (and still know a few); Taobao really did make things a lot cheaper. I never did like shooting at the cons though, always too busy and doesn't really do justice to a lot of the cosplays.
Unfortunately yeah, plus it takes a great skill to incorporate the crowd into the shots. I have yet to master that haha. Hence why I try to change the location to be somewhat away from the main crowd. And also shopping mall lightings arent exactly the best as well.

Have you approached cosplayers for photo sessions? I know some are always looking for photographers to collaborate with.
Unfortunately, a private photo shoot session is a tad hard as I am busy with work or personal stuff outside of anime conventions. I don't know if I would consider moving to a different location during an anime convention will count as a photo session. I do try to make the best with what I can do with my current skills. With that said, Here are some photos from ACG Festiverse RE held in Cheras Sentral Mall, Malaysia. I am glad dprevived has added some exif information in the photos for easier viewing.
I like them all... This one is my favorite.
