ICM using Lumix G9 pixel shift mode (jpg 40MP, mode 1) combined with panning.
What's ICM?
What's ICM?
I've wondered that a while too. Now I googled. Intentional Camera Movement.
I think your the images are pretty cool. Dreamy.
Lovely I like these I did try ICM recently and enjoyed it never tryed with pixel shift yet 🤔
Love it! Did you "twist" number 3?
Awww I love those. Very nice work!
Danny.
Interesting effect and technique .. Not sure where I would use it ... Not particularly fond of using it with these scenes .. maybe with a narrative ...
WhyNot
I really like the effect with the third David. If I remember correctly the Panasonic bodies with pixel shift have motion compensation built in. I don't know what difference that makes to the results you can get using this technique. Maybe none but the trees in the third seem to less effected by the movement than I would have expected.

Definitely unusual, David. I must try it. Rich
Can we do this with Oly too? Is it just a matter of keeping IS on and moving the camera?
Just read your link. Interestingly he mentions adding ND filters to slow down the shutter speeds. Oddly last night I was thinking about my early experiments last night and independently hit on that as a factor to try. I suppose it is obvious once you venture down this route.
I was inspired to try this by Jim Kasson's work "Staccato" www.kasson.com/gallery/staccato/. Different technique, different effect but interesting.
There are a few ways to create these effects: camera or subject movement with slow shutter speeds, Ernst Haas style; or multiple exposures blends in camera. Pixel shift is just a convenience as my G9 doesn't have a suitable in camera multiple exposure mode.
I've also been experimenting with blending sequences of separate photos in post. Some safari images shot by a friend have proved to be a useful starting base.

In fact, it works fine even if you blend 20 unrelated images! Pot luck what comes out and whether it is any good, of course.
