There was a really nice article in Digital Camera Magazine a few issues back about using a laptop screen to create a backdrop for product placement shots, and using a sheet of glass balanced over the keyboard to create a reflective surface.
My first try using this method was with a miniature bottle of Crystal Head Vodka, and a red backdrop on the laptop, I had a lot of fun trying this out, and will definitely be trying it again with other items.
I used my Nikon Zfc with the 50-250mm Kit lens to take the following shot:
