More from the other day. The daffodils (narcissus) are on the way out now. One bloodroot, not fully open.

This last one was not very sharp. I should have gone inside and retrieved the 60 mm macro.

I spent the spring of 1971 in Vedder Crossing. I think it rained every day for three months! Not all day but still a lot of rainy days! I would have thought it might be less wet where you are. About15 years ago we did an Inside passage cruise from Vancouver to Anchorage. Other than the first day in Vancouver it rained every day. I hope you get more pleasant weather soon!

Pretty daffs, Andrew. You have some fancy ones. I like them, especially the third. I moved here in the middle of winter. When spring came I was happy to see that wild daffodils grow everywhere. This one is wild. Rich

Paul, thanks! It is unusual I would think for the daffs to die out. We have them in increasing numbers every year. Some were planted on the hills through the village and they too have grown in numbers and they are in the shade! Strange I would think. Perhaps soil type?

Rich, thanks. I saw your daffs before and noted then how they seem quite different than ours. They do not seem to occur in the wild around here and some nature types get upset about the planting of these non native flowers in wooded areas because of that. Not sure why because where I have seen them there were no wild flowers for them to have displaced.

    Andrew

Oh, and I have an orchid image for you from 2012 taken with the EPM1 and its kit lens, indoors with no additional light. Still a flower I do not particularly care for!!

    Nice Daffodils Andrew.
Our white with yellow centers are fairly prolific but not as showy as in past years.
    Our solid yellow look better.

I see your bloodroot is a single.
We have some of those but they are a little behind the doubles, all are just beginning to bloom though.

TheDavinator, thanks! I looked up the raw this morning and processed it newly. A bit different look than I did twelve years ago but software has improved as has my abilities to use it to achieve my ‘vision’.

Thanks WN. The over night lows here have been around 0 C for several days now. Our pink magnolia tree has been enjoying its best flowering season in many years. Usually the frost gets the blooms and they turn brown.
