This may have been addressed but I couldn't find anything using the search -- not sure it's working??? Anyway ... I can edit a reply to a thread but once started or going back to edit again I see no way to delete the entry if I change my mind!!! I think that is a necessary feature .... or am I missing something???? ..... Also cannot edit the title of a thread that I start ???? ...

    WhyNot

Just write the word Deleted in your thread.
If it's a thread that you have started mistakenly, edit the title of the thread to read, Please delete.

The ability for a member to delete postings is dangerous.
Disgruntled members going off the Reservation and wreaking havoc through forums is not a pretty sight.

Edit: you can change the title of the thread by clicking on the cogwheel, top-right.

Edit .. Thinking about it I suspect the messages are a linked list and there is no ponter to the next message so deletion will break the linkage ... .

The ('old') DPReview site allows deletion of a post only until it has received one or more responses. After that, the option is not available. If your supposition about broken linkages is correct, a similar limitation here should address it.
